The repertoire for children performed at Agrana Studiobühne and at the main opera building is updated regularly with new works commissioned for children aged 6 years and older. Ballets performed by students of the Wiener Staatsoper Ballet Academy and ballet appreciation programmes offer a young audience a first glimpse of dance theatre.

Concerts designed specifically for children or The Magic Flute for Children performed each year on the day following the Opera Ball enable young audiences to experience music theatre first hand.

Children who are interested in actively singing or dancing themselves can join the children’s chorus of the Opera School or attend the Ballet Academy at Wiener Staatsoper, one of the most prestigious dance schools, to learn how to be a dancer.
