The traditional opening procession and formal opening dance of the honorary members of the ball committee, and the Choir’s Senior High School graduates
The Vienna Boys Choir will be held on March 29, 2019 under the auspices of the Austrian Ministry of the Exterior (BMEIA) at Palais Coburg in Vienna – and you are cordially invited to join us on the dance floor.
This year, the Vienna Boys Choir Ball takes place for the first time in Vienna’s fabled Palais Coburg Residenz. The magnificent building was erected on the remnants of the medieval Braunbastei (Braun Bastion), as residence of August of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and his wife Clementine d’Orléans. After a turbulent history, the palace was finally restored to its former glory; in 2003, it was turned into a luxury hotel with two gourmet restaurants.
The Grand Opening takes place in the Palais Coburg State Rooms, with the Vienna Boys Choir singing, the traditional opening procession and formal opening dance of the honorary members of the ball committee, and the Choir’s Senior High School graduates.
Over the course of the night, guests will experience different aspects of Japanese culture and cuisine; meet and mingle with distinguished guests and Japanese dancers.
